Our club is delighted to announce a new sponsorship deal with local bar and friends at the Lord Roberts.

Under fairly new ownership, The Lord Roberts has been a firm-favourite social host for the Nottingham Lions. Many of the club’s members and players have attended weekly quizzes or gone for a (not-so-quiet) drink. It felt like a match made in heaven when the idea of sponsorship came to light.

With the financial support from the Lord Roberts, a new kit for the 2021/22 has been unveiled displaying the Lord Roberts logo on the front. Its bright colour and design reflects the positivity the club and bar runs on.

Proud owner of the Lord Roberts Craig Pennington says it’s a dream come true to sponsor a local LGBTQ+ team….

The support that the Lions have given the pub since taking over has been fantastic and I’m very proud to be able to give that support back.

Craig took over the Lord Roberts on Broad Street, Hockley, two years ago and has been keen to encourage equality in the area. He went on to say ‘I have worked hard to promote the bar as a safe space for everyone, no matter how you identify…so it makes sense to team up with a club that does the same’.

Post-match socials will now also be hosted by the Lord Roberts when the Lions are at home, allowing fellow GFSN teams to enjoy the welcoming and warm environment.

To celebrate the new deal and kit, the club organised an unveiling event at the bar, where a framed shirt was presented to Craig Pennington.

Nottingham Lion’s Commercial Officer Josh Wing says the club is excited about the new sponsorship…

‘We’re very pleased to have Craig and his team on-board. I hope we can continue to support each other and build on a long-term partnership. We cannot wait to get out and play in the new shirts with pride.’

A new kit and sponsor has also seen the club jump from Adidas team-wear to Nike. This is first change of it kind in the club’s 15 years, marking the start of a new chapter.
