Goals from Robbie J (2).

Robbie at the double to snatch The Lions a draw against Leicester Wildecats.

A slow paced first half provided few chances for both teams. With the blustery conditions going against them, The Lions did their best to carve out chances with Robbie J causing trouble to the opposition’s defence.

But first blood went to the home side when they nicked the ball in midfield and slotted past Andrew P.

The Lions got a reward for their pressure just before half time with Robbie J slotting the ball in the goal after a good attacking stretch.

HT 1-1

Despite being in control for large spells, the Lions found themselves a goal-down again when the Wildecats found a way through the defence on the break.

The visitors, undeterred from conceding, kept up the pressure with Robbie J and Sean M proving a handful for Leicester’s defence to contain, their effort eventually being rewarded with Robbie J getting his second of the match.

Neither team wanted to settle for the draw, and the game opened up in the final 10 mins. Brett L proved too strong, countering the Wildecat’s last ditched chance.

Another game in tough conditions. The Lions weathered the storm in the first half and unleashed their own storm in the second, playing some great football!

Welcome back to Damian and Tom C, and thank you to Sean M, Adam and Shaun L for running the line. MOTM this week goes to Robbie J.
